Motorized Pallet Truck
A Motorized Pallet Truck usually goes by other names such as: Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie. These pieces of equipment are essentially a motorized version of a pallet jack. They are available in both "Rider" versions as well as "Walkie" models.
The walkie model as the name implies, is made to allow the operator to walk along the machinery as they pick up and transport cargo. The operator stands on a small platform on the Rider model. The rider models are great for frequent moving of loads over extended distances in manufacturing operations and warehouses. They are highly maneuverable and fast.
It is not recommended to pick up and transport unstable or tall loads because there are no safety cages on these models. A rider could be the best answer if you are searching for an inexpensive way of moving cargo from point A to point B. If though, you must transport heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model could be the right choice.
Order Selector
The order selector or order picker is a piece machine made specially for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks connected to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the operator and the load in an effort to facilitate manual loading and unloading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are usually very narrow aisle vehicles which can function in aisles of less than six feet. They are really handy pieces of machine in physical inventories as well as during cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models that range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more common.
