Reach Truck
To be able to keep storage places tidy and to pile up pallets of goods and supplies, a reach truck can be utilized. The reach truck comes in several kinds: the double-deep reach, straddle reach and the stand-up reach.
The stand-up is the simplest. The forks of the truck slide underneath the pallet and move it to the right storage place. The forks slide the pallet into position. This kind of reach truck is suitable when shelving units are one pallet in depth.
Best for workplaces where the shelving units are deep enough to have two pallets of goods, the double-deep reach truck, which is similar to the stand-up, is frequently utilized. This particular version has telescopic forks intended to put the pallet at the back of the shelving unit. This eliminates the need to push the pallet back when another pallet needs to go into the same shelving section.
The additional advantage of straddle reaches is that they can both slide under the pallet and grasp the sides too. These are suitable for workplaces where shelving units are accessible in multiple directions. This version is ideal in situations where goods would not be damaged if the pallet sides are grabbed.
Often more than one kind of reach truck is needed within warehouses. Textile firms and manufacturing facilities use various types of reach trucks in their supply areas. The reach truck is not difficult to utilize and can make the most of available storage space while increasing production.
