Forklifts are powered by various sources. They can run from gasoline, LP gas or liquid propane, diesel or battery. LP is a clean burning fuel preferred for various uses. There are various facilities that have large liquid propane supplies on site. This allows forklifts to be refueled whenever they need. In other places, the facility would have spare LP cylinders that could be changed out when the equipment should be refueled.
When changing out an LP cylinder, you should really be careful so as to prevent possible serious injuries. Like for instance: be sure to wear the correct safety equipment such as safety glasses or goggles and heavy gloves. Turn off the ignition of the forklift prior to changing out the tank. Next, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is closed securely. Utilize your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Keep in mind that it would turn in the opposite direction of a normal connection and never utilize any kind of wrench or a metal tool on these connections. They are meant to be tightened only by utilizing the hand.
