Genie Knuckle boom lifts are powerful four wheel drive and four wheel steering capable machines that allow work to be done effectively, even if the terrain is rough. The ALC 1000 electronic controls are a menu-based system which enables the user to easily calibrate the machinery and its parts. System diagnostics are offered in many languages. There are dual fuel options available on the Z-80/60 unit. The optional Deutz diesel powered engine is turbocharged, but quiet. It allows for better performance at higher altitudes. It also carries more than enough torque for better terrain- and grade-ability.
Improved traction for tough terrain is due to four-wheel drive and full-time positive traction. The Z-135/70 comes standard with four-wheel steering. Optional features on this particular unit include crab, coordinated, rear wheel and front wheel steering to give the machinery added agility. The full-time active oscillating axle helps enhance wheel contact on uneven ground. All of these features really make Genie Knuckle Boom lifts easier and smoother to use on irregular terrain.
Although these models are bigger compared to other Genie engine-powered articulating Z-booms, they have features like continuous 360 degree turntable rotation and telescoping jibs to provide the user with incredible reach and range of motion. The design of the Z-boom gives the units outstanding over and up positioning capability that ranges from 8.83 meters on the Z-80/60 model to 23.01 meters on the Z-135/70 model. The XChassis expanding axle is an innovatively designed device utilized for both extending and retracting axles in and out of stowed position. If the axle is stowed the width of the Z-135/70 model machine is only 2.46 meters. For easier transport, the Z-80/60 has fixed width axles.
