Kinds of Aisles
Wide Aisle and Narrow Aisle lift trucks are classed due to the types of aisles they have been designed to operate in. These machinery are able to turn in an aisle, whereas Very Narrow Aisle trucks actually don't turn within the aisle. There are several aisle widths to consider with various units.
Very Narrow Aisle or VNA trucks operate in less than 6 feet areas and often use particular guidance systems like optical, rail or wire systems in order to travel within the aisles. Several different models of VNA trucks include Order Selectors, Turret Trucks and Swing Masts. These are common kinds in tight retail areas and in several warehouse and storage situations.
Narrow Aisle trucks can operate within aisles from 8 feet to 10 feet wide. Normally these are stand-up units such as Reach Trucks. They are usually used in warehouses and storage facilities.
Wide Aisle Standard forklifts fall into this truck category and are designed to work in aisles which are more than 11 feet wide.
Stand-Up Ergonomics
The stand-up ergonomics include "Ergomat" padding with a sloped floorboard which is designed to lessen operator exhaustion by absorbing vibration. The operator compartment is very spacious and has an 8" low step height that helps lessen overall body fatigue by easing frequent exit and entry. The model includes polyurethane steer tires to absorb shocks and vibration caused by uneven floor in order to allow smooth traveling. For added comfort, there is a floor mat and a cushioned armrest along with a backrest designed to help keep operators comfortable and therefore more productive while limiting fatigue.
